What's Included in a Pet Sitting Visit? The Complete Guide for Pet Parents
Choosing a trustworthy sitter is an important choice for pet owners. As a pet au pair, I provide personalized care to meet each pet's needs, whether they are shy, small, or older. I offer 30, 45, and 60-minute drop-in visits, as well as overnight stays. I only provide in-home pet sitting since moving can stress pets. This guide will outline what to expect during each visit.
Feeding
I understand that pets can be picky about their food. They follow your exact feeding instructions, whether it's warming food in the microwave or serving it at a specific time. Whether your pet eats wet food, dry food, or has a special diet, I can handle it. I also pay attention to any allergies or dietary restrictions, especially in homes with multiple pets that might need to be fed separately or use microchip feeders. Always let me know about any special diets and feeding routines.
Watering
Fresh water is vital for your pet's health. Pets can get dehydrated if they don't drink enough from their food or water bowls. I ensure your pet's water bowl is clean and full during every visit. I understand the importance of hydration in various seasons and climates. I love water fountains, and for those playful pets that prefer drinking from the sink, I sometimes let them enjoy this treat.
Litter Box / Poop Scooping
Scooping cat litter is not a fun topic, but it's a key job. For dogs, I will pick up after their poop during our walks. During visits, I will check for problems like blood, diarrhea, or accidents in inappropriate places. I will also inform you of any issues to ensure everything is normal. If there are any concerns, I'll create an emergency plan.
Tidying Up
I know how important it is to return to a tidy home, so I can vacuum, sweep, washing dishes, take out the trash, and fulfill any special requests. You won't come home to a messy space filled with litter and hairballs.
Medication (if needed):
I am skilled at giving pills, fluids, inhalers, liquids, and drops. I understand that some pets are more difficult to medicate than others. I suggest having a backup plan if your pet reacts differently to a new person giving them medication. Prepare pill pockets and have a family member or friend as a backup, just in case, as many medications are essential for managing ongoing health issues in pets.
Adorable Updates With Photos
We really miss our pets when we're away (even at work)! I am like pet photographer; you can expect plenty of cute photos while you enjoy your drink on the beach. The Time to Pet app lets you easily chat with me from anywhere in the world.
Playtime, Cuddles, and Companionship
For cats, I enjoy playing with feather wands, tossing spring toys, and using laser pointers, along with giving out catnip. I love walking, playing, and wrestling with dogs. I also offer cuddles, massages, and brushing. Lap pets are especially adored.
Special Requests & House Chores
I can help with light tasks like bringing in the mail and watering plants. If you have other requests, please chat with me to see if I can help. I love pets and take pride in caring for my many kitty clients. I look forward to meeting your pets, and if you have questions about my services, feel free to give me a call.
