Fun Activities Centered Around Your Cat

Below are ideas to help you mix up your routine for an extra cuddly evening with your kitty.

Idea 1: Snuggle up and enjoy your favorite romantic comedy

Designate a specific movie time on the couch for quality kitty snuggles. Bring your favorite drink, your cat’s favorite treats, and a soft blanket. If your cat is very active and can't sit still, play a cat video on your phone or tablet for them.

Idea 2: Cook a special meal

While many human foods are not safe for cats, some are safe to cook as treats. If you're cooking a meal, you can include some ingredients that are okay for your cat. Just make sure to check your research and consult your vet before giving your cat anything you’re unsure about.

Idea 3: Gather some supplies and make a DIY cat toy

Cats often find unexpected objects to play with. If you're tired of finding your hair ties hidden under furniture, try distracting your cat with something new and shiny. You likely have simple household items that your cat will enjoy. Consider making a DIY cat tree if you have the time and resources. However, avoid using hazardous household objects and always supervise your cat during playtime.

Idea 4: Throw on some cat-inspired music

If you love relaxing at home with music, try these cat-themed songs and get ready to dance! Your cat may not be a great dancer, but the fun music might inspire them to move and play.

Idea 5: Get creative

Feeling creative? Use that energy to make special art for your cat. Grab your pens and paints to create a portrait of your feline friend. Write a song for your cat to enjoy. Knit a hat for your kitten. Write a poem about your cat’s best features, or imagine their thoughts and write a short story from their perspective. No matter your talent, there's always room for more cat creations!
